Since I don't really like the default palette in openCanvas i've started to use those from Painter. Originally I wanted to use several palettes from Photoshop (Such as DIC Color Guide), but unfortunatly openCanvas doesn't want to open the files from Photoshop (Even though it says it supports them). I might find the will and time to manually convert some of the palettes from PS to oC but until then I will have to do with these.
Anyway that aside, I thought other openCanvas users who don't have Painter might find them useful too. It does have the PANTONE palettes which are really nice.
The .ZIP file includes all palettes from Corel Painter IX, which are:
| Quote: | Hexidecimal SET
Pantone SET
72 Pencils
Assorted Colors
Assorted Oils
Assorted Pastels
Black Walnut Ink
Buildup Ink Colors
Candy
Colored Pencil Set
Earth Tones
Elevation
Equalize
Flesh Tones
Gray Range
Grayscale
Hi Key
Jacarand
Love Bird Colors
Macintosh Default 256
Muted Tones
Netscape Navigator 216
Painter 5 Colors
Pastels
Purplish Coppers
Rich Oils
Saturated Greens
Solids
Spectrum of Oils
Spectrum
Violet Sky
Vivid Spring
Weaving Color Set 1
Windows Default 256 | There you have it. All in all it has very nice Palettes which can definatly help with picking the right color combinations. Something which I personally have had quite some trouble with in the past.
Installation:
1. Download and Unzip the Palettes and put them into any directory you see fit (I would suggest making a directory called Swatches/Palettes in the directory in which you installed openCanvas).
2. Now open up openCanvas and open your Color Palette (CTRL+7).
3. All you have to do now is Click 'Palette -> Load...' and browse to the directory in which you placed all the palettes, where you select one of the files. Don't forget to set the Filetype to 'Painter Color Set' though, or you won't be able to see the files.
Optional: Since Painter tends to use weird shapes for their palettes you might want to change it back to the standard 'blocks' by clicking 'View -> Display Option' on your Color Palette and setting the Width and Height to somewhere around 12.
Downloads:
Unconverted Palettes (Includes Photoshop Palettes) ~297kb
Converted OPL Palettes ~63kb
Tell me if you have any problems getting to work and i'll see what I can do! _________________ openCanvas Undo Editor

I don't think it matters, although it could be possible that earlier versions of openCanvas don't support Corel Painter palettes yet. If that is the case I could convert these .txt files to .opl which is openCanvas' own format, so if anyone finds out let me know. It will definatly work with the 4.xx series though. _________________ openCanvas Undo Editor |

Haha, as long as it isn't openCanvas <version> professor, because honestly, I think I don't even use 50% of it's capabilities.
There's much I have to learn before I can start teaching others properly.
Anyway, I have converted the .txt files to .opl (ugh, such boring work) and zipped them up. Updated the main post with the new download link. _________________ openCanvas Undo Editor |

| How about "resource contributer"? I was thinking of that one for people who submit a lot of resources. |
